Education Reimbursement for Non-Instructional Employees.

Requirements:

  • Apply for Federal Financial Aid
  • Make a C grade or higher in each class
  • Commit to teaching for up to 3 years with PCPS
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college’s education program

Must be a current, full-time, non-instructional employee.

The subject area exam reimbursement process has been established for Polk County Public Schools as a method for recruiting and retaining highly qualified teachers.

You must meet at least one of the criteria below:

  • Out-of-Field Teaching Assignment
  • Impacted by a certification requirement change that requires a new test.
  • Participant in the Greenhouse Program
  • Kelly substitute that was hired full-time this year
  • Former PCPS paraprofessional who has been hired as a teacher this year

Custodial

For Custodial Jobs : Custodial positions listed on the “Non-Instructional Positions Currently Available” page are “permanent” positions and may be filled by individuals who are already employees of Polk County Public Schools. Anyone who is not an employee of the school district may apply for a substitute position and, once hired and trained, may bid on permanent positions. To become a substitute, simply complete the application. Once completed, you will receive a confirmation email stating your application has been received. Once you have received confirmation, you may then contact Custodial Services at 863-534-0721.

  • You must have been honorably discharged and/or retired.
  • You must agree to teach in Polk County for at least two years.
  • You must hold a state of Florida temporary or permanent teaching certification.

*Funds are contingent upon state approval; be on the lookout for emails with more information.
