Custom Job Purpose
This position exists to assist schools in meeting the unique academic needs of eligible migrant students.
Essential Functions of this Job
Professional duties will include identifying migrant students who are at-risk in not meeting grade level proficiency by analyzing data from identified state and district formative and summative assessments, classroom assignments, and other identified curricula-based learning tasks; collaborating with teachers to plan, implement, and evaluate interventions for identified students; identifying appropriate supplemental resources to meet students' individual needs; monitoring students' response and communicating with administration, teachers, and parents regarding students' progress in tutoring activities.
Works with school guidance counselors to determine and monitor migrant students' unique academic needs. Assists pre-K students in their preparation for kindergarten. Assists K-12 students to increase their math and reading scores. Works with the Migrant Manager to assist out of school youth to enroll in education programs that focus on life skills, English skills, and GED preparation. Assists secondary students in graduating from high school and exploring college and career opportunities. Encourages a positive self-image for migrant students. Establishes communication with the parents of migrant students in order to address personal, social and academic needs. Plans and facilitatesparent involvement activities and meetings. Work Context
