Planning and Assessment Specialist
Custom Job Purpose
This position exists to perform highly responsible and advanced office management skills in supporting the FDLRS Manager with the FDLRS grant applications. Must demonstrate advanced technical work in the operation of computers and software systems involved in planning and documenting FDLRS activities and training as well as FDLRS grant evaluation needs. Specialist manages office operations and staff by applying considerable knowledge of the FDLRS Project under the Coordinator's control.
Essential Functions of this Job
Manages FDLRS office operations and supervises other clerical staff. Works closely with personnel to maintain communication and coordination of the grant submission and evaluation process. Assists the FDLRS coordinator with distribution and maintenance of the FDLRS Project. Works closely with district, school personnel, and staff regarding data needed for FDLRS Project documentation. Maintains state mandated database documenting grant requirements including budget, payroll, inventory, personnel, training hours and outcomes. Responsible for district payroll for FDLRS staff. Prepares reports for grant documentation. Develops public relations materials, schedules events, meetings, and maintain calendars of activities for FDLRS manager and staff. Creates purchase orders, coordinates local budget with SAP, and maintains inventory on all resources relating to FDLRS functions. Coordinates all phases of HRD input into the internet scheduler such as planning forms, creates in-service documentation forms, generates registration and posts follow-up in-service points district-wide. Trains district staff, paraprofessionals, substitutes, non-school personnel in use of the internet scheduler.

Qualifications
Graduation from high school or community college. Considerable experience in project management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough understanding of state grant regulations. Demonstrated organizational and public relations skills. Expertise in database and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of state level CHRIS (Children's Registry Information System), county HRD, and finance databases. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.
Work Context
Requires sitting and some standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public.
Physical Environment
Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 20 pounds.
