Senior Coordinator, Fine Arts

Custom Job Purpose

This position exists to plan, coordinate, manage, and assist with the supervision of Fine Arts curriculum, personnel, budget, assessments, district-wide events, and educational resources for K–12 Fine Arts programs (Music, Visual Arts, Theatre, Dance) across the district.

Essential Functions of this Job

Essential Functions
• Assist the Senior Director of Fine Arts in planning and implementation of district Fine Arts initiatives.
• Develop, implement, and continuously update Fine Arts curriculum guidelines for grades K–12.
• Supervise, coordinate, analyze, and monitor Fine Arts programs, educators, and activities districtwide.
• Plan and deliver professional learning for Fine Arts teachers across all disciplines.
• Provide targeted support for new and struggling Fine Arts educators.
• Plan and implement district and all-county Fine Arts festivals, exhibitions, and performances.
• Prepare equipment, supply, and instructional materials bid specifications in collaboration with facilities and purchasing.
• Oversee adoption of Fine Arts textbooks, instructional resources, and digital tools.
• Prepare, manage, and monitor Fine Arts budgets (Operating, LSA, Repair, Travel, Title II, grants).
• Coordinate, review, and analyze Fine Arts assessments and performance data.
• Serve as liaison among parents, teachers, students, schools, community partners, and arts organizations.
• Represent the district at state and national Fine Arts meetings and professional organizations.
• Prepare reports, analyses, and presentations related to Fine Arts operations and outcomes.
• Assist with teacher supplements and non-FTE summer Fine Arts enrichment programs.

Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Fine Arts, Arts Education, or Educational Leadership preferred.
Certification in an arts-related area preferred.
Minimum of six (6) years of successful teaching experience in the Fine Arts.
Demonstrated success with student performance, exhibitions, or assessments.
National Board Certification highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Fine Arts, Arts Education, or Educational Leadership preferred.
Certification in an arts-related area preferred.
Minimum of six (6) years of successful teaching experience in the Fine Arts.
Demonstrated success with student performance, exhibitions, or assessments.
National Board Certification highly desirable.

Work Context

Work involves sitting, standing, walking, coordinating activities, using electronic communication systems, and traveling to district sites. Requires collaboration with students, staff, and the public. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and 40 pounds occasionally with assistance.

Physical Environment

Light physical effort: ability to exert up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
• Prolonged periods of sitting with intermittent standing and walking.
• Frequent use of communication tools including phones, computers, and messaging systems.
