Senior Coordinator – Teaching & Learning – STEM and CTE
Custom Job Purpose
This position exists to focus on student learning by providing support and assistance to teachers and school-based administration. Provides extensive support and coaching services in STEM and Career and Technical Education. This position is not assigned to a specific region and will work on a modified work schedule to possibly include nights and weekends.
Essential Functions of this Job
Provides leadership for communicating, planning, organizing, and training schools to enhance teacher performance and increase student achievement in STEM and CTE programs.
• Responsible for identifying areas of program strengths and weaknesses and recommending programmatic revisions based on teacher and student performance.
• Supervises, coordinates, analyzes, and monitors the overall function of the program.
• Assists in the selection of instructional materials and prepares, supervises, and administers budget for equipment purchases, supplies, and repairs.
• Collaborates with the CTE and/or Teaching and Learning content specialists to plan, deliver, and evaluate teacher professional learning opportunities.
• Responsible for communicating and monitoring state statutes, Department of Education (DOE) updates, district procedures.
• Plans, organizes, and implements local, state, and national academic and co-curricular competitions (Robotics, PRSEF, ISEF) and exhibitions for Career and Technical Education programs.
• Represents the district at state level meetings related to Career and Technical Education and STEM, as well as serving in leadership roles in professional organizations for the assigned areas.
• Aware of, able to speak to, and monitor pathways for appropriate industry certifications.
• Advise teachers regarding the functionality of classroom, instruction, and industry certification.
• Serve as an advisory board member for school, community, and industry advisory boards.

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s in subject matter area, education, or educational leadership. Certification in the subject area is preferred. Considerable experience in project management, assessment/measurement, curriculum development, or teacher training. Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Very well-developed project management and/or assessment skills. Knowledge of the Florida Standards and Curriculum Frameworks. Knowledge of national, state, and district educational goals. Knowledge of research and best practices related to subject matter area education. Knowledge of technology infrastructure and IT troubleshooting. Ability to analyze data. Extensive interpersonal skills, ability to relate to others, and facilitate groups. Ability to communicate effectively.
Work Context
Requires some sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones, and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals, and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public.
Physical Environment
Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires standing for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 20 pounds.
